Take up your sword and shield, Wanderer – the Paladin will soon arrive with the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion in Diablo 4 next year, joining the Paladin as a new class within the expansion. But if you are dying to unleash the Power of the Light yourself, then you can pre-order the expansion for $40 and receive instant access to the class now. The news broke during this year’s Game Awards where the Paladin class will become one of two classes within the upcoming expansion. The Paladin class originally comes from Diablo 2 and has long been a requested class for Diablo 4.

The action RPG launched in June of 2023, mere few months before Microsoft, the Xbox console manufacturer, completed its acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Later in October of 2024, Blizzard launched an expansion called Vessel of Hatred that featured a ‘Spiritborn’ class and allowed players to explore the jungle of ‘Nahantu’.

“The new Lord of Hatred expansion will take place in Skovos, which is the oldest area of Sanctuary, having once been the dwelling place of Lilith and Inarius,” Battle.net explains. “A fight will ensue across the woods, shores, and remains as players fight their way against Mephisto, one of the greater demons, whom fans of the Diablo series encountered for the first time in Act Three of Diablo II.”

That’s all we know for now
